David was recognized as 'a man after My Heart' by God. King Saul of Israel had become so jealous of David that he pursued David trying to kill him. While he was being pursued by King Saul, David wrote a poem. It is the 23rd Psalm beginning with "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want." David praised God in faith and thanked God for protecting him through such threats to his life. Whenever you don't have true peace in your heart because of difficult circumstances and hard situations, just remind yourself of this confession of David. If you can just realize and acknowledge that God alone is the true Shepherd of your life, you will then be able to live a life in which you lack in nothing just like David.
