When the way is opened up for a person to recover after his business failed or when a person is rescued from drowning, people generally say that he was "saved." It means that he was rescued from difficulty or danger. Then, what is salvation and being saved as found in the Bible? It is not going to Hell, but being able to live eternally in heaven by believing in Jesus Christ who redeemed the sin of all human beings.
"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me'" (John 14:6).
