There is something that the God of love commands us to hate. It is 'evil.' This 'evil' is opposite to goodness. The more sincere and deeper your love for God, the more you will hate evil. In the same way you get rid of things you hate, you will also get rid of evil from your heart. People who love God overcome evil with goodness. They can extend mercy and forgiveness to those who do them harm. They hate the evil, not the evil-doer.
"Hate evil, you who love the LORD, Who preserves the souls of His godly ones; He delivers them from the hand of the wicked" (Psalm 97:10).
