There are many Christians who help the poor (Deuteronomy 15:10). It is very gracious to see the poor who got helped comes to know the love of God and becomes to be blessed to help others later. However, you should not help others only because they are poor. For example, if you help a person who is poor as he doesn't work from his laziness, it can make him incompetent. It is good to relieve others, but you must practice it with discerning in the truth.
