Let's say that you try hard to do something but you still receive reproof. How would you feel then? Taking it personally and from a personal point of view, it may hurt your feelings. This is because you have a heart that wants to be recognized and loved by others. 'To feel hurt' is like poison that does harm to you and a knife pointed at you. The feeling may hurt you and peace in your heart may be broken. You may feel distressed. However if you can put yourself in others' shoes all the time and see things from their perspective you can get rid of such feelings and keep peace in your heart (Proverbs 14:30).
