In the Bible, there is a story of a man who went on a journey after he entrusted his possessions to his slaves. Each slave differently made a profit for the master with his master's money except for one of the slaves who hid the money in the ground. After returning, the master threw him out into the darkness saying, "You wicked, lazy slave!" (Matthew 25:14-30) In the same manner, we have to make 'profits' for the kingdom of God with our God-given talents and finances. This applies to all things in our lives. We must check to see if we are performing our duties well and whether or not we are bearing good fruit in our lives.
