'Reverence' is a feeling of profound awe and respect and often, of love. Those who revere God at least won't sin due to the fear of His judgment and punishment. If they achieve the deeper level of reverence, they won't sin because they don't want to hurt God's heart because they love Him. When Joseph served as a servant to Potiphar, an Egyptian officer, Potiphar's wife tried to seduce him. But he refused saying, "How then could I do this great evil and sin against God?" In the same way, we can never do the things God hates if we love Him.
