It is the same as training a person to be a capable individual. When God appointed David as king, He didn't make him king at once. God made him suffer the risks to his life, hunger, and poverty, and being chased by evil king Saul. He led David to have faith like pure gold and to become a great king through various hardships. When you are accomplishing something, you shouldn't push things too fast nor rely on chance, but accomplish it by integrity, diligence and patience while relying on God.
