Some believers pray saying, "Let me discover the evil in me that is against the Word of God" while they ignore the advice of others. There are some others who ask God in prayer to let them be kind and holy; but they feel irritated and quickly burst out anger when things don't agree with their thoughts. They can't say they really want to change themselves. They have to pray with their hearts and ask for strength from above. Moreover, they need to accept others' advice and renew themselves. "But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves" (James 1:22).
