Some people shed tears regretting what they did, and they think it repentance. However, regret and repentance are different. If you continue to think about your past wrongdoings and remain stagnant in frustration, it is just regret. Through repentance, you can keep what you did in your heart and you will never repeat the same wrongdoing. Those who truly repent do not stop in the past. They just give thanks and have hope in their hearts just as the lyrics of the hymn say, "Amazing grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost but now I'm found. Was blind but now I see."
