"Volunteer Work Is a Blessing and a Proof of My Love!"

Senior Deaconess Heekyung Kim, age 46, Parish 17, South Korea She was volunteering during Manmin Summer Retreat
I grew up with no difficulties during my childhood. I had many friends but, at the corner of my heart I had a thirst that could not be quenched with anything. I went to many big churches but I was still thirsty. Although I went to church, I did not have assurance of salvation and going to Heaven. So I had no peace and no joy.
In May 1998, I was guided by my elder sister, Senior Deaconess Heesu Kim, to Dr. Jaerock Lee's Special Revival Meeting held in Manmin Central Church. Since then, my believing life began changing. As I listened to the sermons in the church, I found the fundamental causes of many problems I had faced with. I listened to Senior Pastor's sermon tapes and read his books. As I received a lot of grace, I diligently volunteered in the church's events and helped people with difficulties in walking.
Meantime, Elder Kangjun Lee recommended that I volunteer and take charge of security of the members in the church services and the many events. On Sunday I volunteered during Sunday Morning Service, Sunday Evening Service, Light and Salt Mission Service, and many events.
In 2000, I earnestly wanted to help my Senior Pastor who led overseas crusades only with faith. At the right time, I was given chances to publicize the crusades in the local areas.
In those days, I worked for an entertainment agency. In order to publicize the crusades, I had to take more than 15 days off. God moved the heart of my boss and allowed me to take the long-term vacation and it was even a paid vacation!
Before the crusades, I stayed in the countries for 15 days or even for a month. From early morning until evening, I gave publicity materials to people around subway stations, on the street, or in their houses. As I came back to my lodging and prayed to finish the day, I felt so happy. When I witnessed the power of God manifested by Senior Pastor in the crusades, I felt thrilled and excited and made up my mind to work faithfully.
On December 25, 2010, I saw the love of God, the Lord, and the shepherd towards Manmin. I realized that what God really wants is true children who have good and beautiful hearts. Afterwards, with a new resolution, I started to summarize Senior Pastor's messages such as "The Nine Fruits of the Holy Spirit", "The Beatitudes", and the "Love Chapter". I prayed every day to achieve the heart that God really wants.
In 2015, I tried to obey the will of God telling us to rejoice always, pray unceasingly, and give thanks in everything. In June 2015, I was blessed to achieve the heart of spirit. Hallelujah!
I am working as a group leader of Women's Mission and a leader of the Female Security Volunteers' Group. I was also promoted as a team manager in my workplace Urim Asset Plus. My husband helped me volunteer whenever I wanted, and he has also received blessings in his business. I give all thanks and glory to God who has blessed me in spirit and body.
